Certianly, first of all that was an airport in Washington D.C. I do remember a long line, I stood 3 hours till my turn, and spent just a couple of minutes in front of the officer. I was tired and nervous that makes me very talkative - so I started discussing the day, the weather, the line and exhausted him totally. He said "Oh miss, I see you like talking". In the end both of us were tired from each other I think.
Then I started getting used to take off the shoes in local airports. That was weird for me. Really. And so uncomfortable. See, one box is for clothes, for laptop, for shoes, for carry on bag, for winter clothes for example. 4-5 boxes Minimum. Totally uncomfoirtable. I don't know how some ladies contrive to keep their elegance even in such cases. I seem to myself as a turtle or a camel with a lot of stuff. And I'm confused becasue it takes a lot of time for me grab all my staff again.
And for sure it's a rare chance to find any soup in airport eateries. Only pizza, pizza, pizza, tex-mex, and beer. And tasteful turkey sandwiches from Starbucks. I like soup, this is one of the healthiest courses, and this is a big problem.
What I like - an access to pure drink water, bubblers are everywhere. And restrooms THANKS GOD usually are in good condition.
I dislike local routes in the U.S. American air companies have one of the cheapest tickets and totally awful aircrafts. Aircrafts are so narrow, has no enough space (once I couldn't fit carry-on bag in the shelf - so small it was, and the steward put it in the back of the cabin) and you don't have any chance to eat anything unless you fly 1st class. Once I was very hungry the same as I think the most of the passengers because when my turn came to order sandwiches, they'd already run out.
Moreover, american iarcrafts like to be late. This is a habit for them. 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 - it turned to be a tradition.
