Where's that New York?

Just a little bit of prose. I was always wondering why in Hollywood movies people are able to walk at empty streets of New York. Where? Show me such magic places in a real life.

To my sensation New York is the city of always hurrying people. A lot of trash (I hate these huge black bags) and smells and smokes from burgers, hot-dogs, and gyiro that sold on the streets (not pleasant sometimes). And what I love - concerts of musicians at subway stops. Never sleep, never empty, always smells and always sounds.

But for truth's sake I must report that Emprie Street Buliding area after midnight turn to the area of trush and flying sacks, and no people at this place you can meet. However, in sunny day it's unreal to find a such place including Central Park. 5th avenue? No way!

I walk along the streets of New York and can't imagine the city of Sex and the City heroins and Nanny diaries. I'm serious, they existed in other New York.

Me and United Nations

Today I was in the United Nations headquarter. 1 av./45 street, NYC. Nice place, nice guard, good tour. I want to emphasize that the buildigns are very modest both inside and outside. I agree with that, because the status is not established through surface gloss but through real work.

It is said that the buildings were build in 1950-s and 1960-s, and the UN start renovation works this season. And it will cost an arm and a leg. Visitors tour includes observing the most impressive gifts to UN from different countries and the most of such gifts actually were from the East: Thailand, China, Arabic Emirates, Ukraine (come on, I suppose that Ukraine and Russia are more eastern areas than western).

The General Assembly Hall was huge. I didn't know that the places of the country members are ordered randomly each year not to discriminate anyone by its alphabetic name. Each country may have to 6 representatvies at the sessions.

I made the picture with carton Ban Ki Moon, which was quite pretty, and made my pic with a took-off shoe like Nikita Khrushchev who on October 12, 1960 during 15th UN Assembly took off his shoe and started banging his shoe in the table. I like this one especially.

And a few serious things to end it up. As I told above the status is not established through surface gloss but through real work. There is an inscription, someone's citation on the one of the UN walls inside the building, which say that UN have not been created to get people to the paradise but to save them from hell. Come on guys! What are you taling about? Even Secutrity Council does not control the situation. Wars, invasions, no one obeys to a veto anymore. Hunger and poverty keep increasing.

The U.N. became something symbolic and useless. It seems that the UN is looking forward for the same destiny as for League of the Nations.

I'm not surprised that the U.S. has the highest rate in H1N1 swine flu

I'm not surprised that the U.S. have the highest rate in swine flu. American public medical service is very bad. They don't care about people unless this is not private clinics.

Me and my friend at the same time cougth cold in NYC, 2 weeks ago. My friend had high temperature, and in the night we decided to go to the hosptial. Usually we just got some terraflu, but today in the U.S you must be concerned about swine flu.

Yes, in other country you might decide to call emergency, no away - it's too expencive (once my friend called 911, because his wife was injured, she didn't have an insurance, thus they were charged for $ 3,000 for nothing - the doctor examined her and prescribed some pills). Bu the way in my country emergency is always free of charge~!!!! What to do? We went in the new York night, cought taxi and went to the hospital. First we completed all applications (of course they want to be sure that they will be paid for their work), then we (sorry for that) went to pee for analysis and waited for 4 hours in line.

That was already sunrise when we decided to go back, we didn't have any strength to wait anymore. We obtained the nurse's promise that in case if the analyses will be critical we will be notified. Well, 2 weeks had gone and today I received a bill from the hospital.

OMG! They charged money for URINA PREGNANCY TEST! All this time I had been sure that the test examined the flu. I knew that I'm not pregnant, and today I need to pay for that. For what? What if that was a real swine flu? We could die - alone, in the night in Manhattan, even having a full insurance.

This is stupid thing about U.S. medical system. Many people, even with American citiznehsip, can't afford medical insirance for themsleves that made them totally unprotected from any disease, including swine flu.

I told you, I'm not surprised but I started being very suspicious to each person, who sneezes or coughs. God! Save me!

American air life

Certianly, first of all that was an airport in Washington D.C. I do remember a long line, I stood 3 hours till my turn, and spent just a couple of minutes in front of the officer. I was tired and nervous that makes me very talkative - so I started discussing the day, the weather, the line and exhausted him totally. He said "Oh miss, I see you like talking". In the end both of us were tired from each other I think.

Then I started getting used to take off the shoes in local airports. That was weird for me. Really. And so uncomfortable. See, one box is for clothes, for laptop, for shoes, for carry on bag, for winter clothes for example. 4-5 boxes Minimum. Totally uncomfoirtable. I don't know how some ladies contrive to keep their elegance even in such cases. I seem to myself as a turtle or a camel with a lot of stuff. And I'm confused becasue it takes a lot of time for me grab all my staff again.

And for sure it's a rare chance to find any soup in airport eateries. Only pizza, pizza, pizza, tex-mex, and beer. And tasteful turkey sandwiches from Starbucks. I like soup, this is one of the healthiest courses, and this is a big problem.

What I like - an access to pure drink water, bubblers are everywhere. And restrooms THANKS GOD usually are in good condition.

I dislike local routes in the U.S. American air companies have one of the cheapest tickets and totally awful aircrafts. Aircrafts are so narrow, has no enough space (once I couldn't fit carry-on bag in the shelf - so small it was, and the steward put it in the back of the cabin) and you don't have any chance to eat anything unless you fly 1st class. Once I was very hungry the same as I think the most of the passengers because when my turn came to order sandwiches, they'd already run out.

Moreover, american iarcrafts like to be late. This is a habit for them. 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 - it turned to be a tradition.

New in town - Hollywood dream making machine still works

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5BiBn91Ag0

New in town is a good option to escape from reality to those who lost their job, savings, family dew to world financial crisis. Hollywood still produces American dreams.
What might be easier than transfer a plant to tapioca producing factory and earn a lot of money on that in a month? (Ha-ha-ha, can you believe it's possible?) And I forgot - by the way to find LOVE. As the main heroine said - free competition is that built America. So if you don't used to watch fairy tales for adults just quit the movie. Nobody requires you to do it.

Nazi crime Aribert Heim died in 1992 - Mass-media

They say that "Doctor death" nazi crime Aribert Heim might be dead at 1992. While working at kontzlager or concentration camp he provided a lot of experiments on how to kill people.
Germany, and actually western medicine science dramatically advanced after WWII. Million of died people in concentration camps have been a price of that. Do you think while taking antibiotic that in the past many people died when some Dr.Death experimented on them. Isn't it cruel? You don't mind? You are just taking drugs and it treats you? Well...

Is it love?

I know you might be exhausted of this stuff and say "there is nothing new, so much discussions on that issue. Basta!". Some people even believe that love doesn't exist and our relations are just a part of socila contract - "We take care of each other because it's easier to survive tohgether".
Well he said he loves me but what's then? Yes he gifted me flowers, but he still put his socks under the bed which makes me mad. Yes we hang out, live together, we have children at least... Is it love?
In "Sleepless in Seattle" Meg Ryan's mom said you feel it as magic. Is it magic when he makes massage to you and you squeeze out his pimples. He doesn't save you from giant dragon or cruel wizard, and you don't wait for him for 7 years, closed in the tower alone. Reality is much predictable and boring. Once a year you have a vacation trip, you die at your office but money still manage, sometimes you show your bravity countering your boss or fighitng being drunk. Heroes on the screen are still heroes - young, brave and independent, and your life passes. Children sometimes don't understand you, hey what do they know about life! And only one person near of you can bear you, your grumbling and give you warm robe because after years you feel more cold. You don't notice her/his wrinkles as well as yourself.
Do you get me?
Love? Habbit? Fear? Friendship? What makes us be connected to each other?

Gastric 'condoms' could help obese avoid surgery

I read these two messages today. From one side we see million people starving in the world, form the other - these people. I remember one politican joked that US people need to give and send even 1 hamburger each to poor countries and it might feed them for a day.
But anyway how to reach a balance? Do you remember Walley? And these fat people in the shuttle? Do you think it will happen or it is already happening to us?
